A field guide for street photographers.

About

The Manual

A creative tool for street photographers

Street photography is one of the hardest disciplines to stay consistent in. You show up, the light is wrong, the streets are quiet, and your mind goes blank. Street Manual exists to fix that.

It's a deck of prompt cards built to give you a concrete starting point — a frame, a concept, a constraint — so you can stop deliberating and start shooting.

What's in the deck

140+
Cards

Categories
£29
Full access

Each card covers a specific technique, concept, or creative challenge. Categories include light and shadow, human moments, geometry and form, motion, texture, storytelling, and more.

Every card includes a prompt, a field assignment, recommended camera settings, a suggested location type, and an estimated time commitment.

How to use it

Hit Inspire Me to pull a random card. Browse by category if you're after something specific. Mark cards as Focus Cards to track what you're actively working on, and log your sessions to see your progress over time. The app runs entirely in your browser — your Focus Log and preferences are saved locally.

The weekly prompts

Not ready for the full deck? Sign up for Weekly Prompts — one card delivered to your inbox each week, free. A good way to build a habit before committing to the full set.

Who made this

Street Manual was made in the United Kingdom by someone who shoots film on the streets and wanted a better way to stay intentional between outings. It's an independent project, not backed by a brand or agency.
