Approach someone and ask to photograph them where they are - behind their market stall, outside their shop, sitting on their doorstep. Not a posed portrait in an empty space. Them, in their place, doing roughly what they were doing.

You're documenting a person and a world simultaneously. The environment tells half the story.

Watch for: backgrounds competing with faces. Strong context is good. Chaotic context is noise. Find the balance.

Try this: Once someone says yes, do not pose them. Ask them to carry on, then shoot wide enough to show the shop, the stall, the tools of their day. Take one step closer for a tighter frame and one back for the full context, and keep both.

The point: this is the bridge between street photography and documentary. Some of the best pictures live there.
