Spend all of December photographing Christmas as a public experience - the lights, the shoppers, the office parties, the charity Santas, the people who are clearly not enjoying any of it.

How to shoot it: Shoot all of December, after dark when the lights are lit. Photograph the shoppers laden and frazzled, the charity Santas, the office parties spilling out, and the one person clearly not enjoying any of it, which is often the picture. Expose for the lights and let the rest go moody. The gap between the forced cheer and real faces is the whole subject.
