Go out on Halloween night and photograph everything - the children trick-or-treating, the adults in costumes, the parties, the quiet streets in between.

How to shoot it: One night, so plan a route, town centre then residential and back. Flash earns its place here, freezing costumes against the dark in the Parr tradition, or shoot available light for the glow of pumpkins and streetlamps. Look for the gap between the costume and the ordinary street around it. Shoot children only with a parent's clear say-so.

The output: A single-night document.
