Photograph people on their phones in public. The posture, the glazed expression, the physical proximity to other people combined with total mental absence.

How to shoot it: The lit face in low light is the signature frame, so shoot at dusk and after dark when screens glow. Look for the gap between physical closeness and mental absence, a whole bus lit by separate screens, a couple each on their own phone. Shoot from the hip or across the street so nobody performs for you.

The output: A series that will age into a period document.
