Pride

Pride is one of the most photogenic events in the calendar — colour, expression, self-invention, defiance and joy at full volume. Like any parade it rewards a plan: the performers want to be seen, so the set-piece floats are the easy shots, and the candids at the edges are often the stronger ones.

Where it works: Pride, carnival, parades and marches — any event where people dress up and turn out to be seen.

Camera Settings

f/8, fast shutter for the movement. A day to shoot in colour — embrace the saturation.
