Reflections in Polished Surfaces

Gatherings are full of mirrors if you look: polished car paint, glass display cases, trophies, chrome, wet ground, sunglasses. Use them to fold the crowd and the scene into a single reflective frame.

Where it works: a car show (the crowd bent across a curved wing), a trophy table, a shopfront at a market, a puddle at a festival, anywhere with a shiny surface.

Best time: whenever there's directional light to give the reflection contrast.

Camera Settings

f/8 and focus on the reflection, not the surface. Move around it until the reflected scene composes.
