Photograph skips, fly-tipping, charity shop donations, bulk waste collection days. What a society discards is as revealing as what it keeps.

How to shoot it: What a place throws away tells on it, so shoot skips, dumped sofas, bin days and donation piles as still lifes of a society. Frame them straight and deadpan, no drama, and look for the absurd juxtaposition, the pristine teddy on a tip, the three-piece suite in a lay-by. Flat light suits the deadpan. Record the location and date, because it dates beautifully.

The output: Very Parr. Slightly bleak. Entirely honest.
