Skin as autobiography.

Photograph people with significant tattoos - with permission, close, in context. The tattoo tells a story. The person around it tells another.

How to shoot it: Ask first, always, and let the person choose which tattoo and why, because the story is half the picture. Shoot the ink close and in context, the arm on a pub table, the hand on the wheel, so skin and setting both read. Soft side light shows the texture where direct sun flattens it. Get a frame of the person, not just the pattern.

The output: A portrait series with a clear visual language.
